Smallville is the latest to jump on the 'let's kill a major character' band wagon. Following the formula that was popularized by LOST and absorbed by practically every other prime time drama on television, Smallville will be disposing of one of four major stars. Amongst the picks: Tom Welling (Clark), Michael Rosenbaum (Lex), Allison Mack (Chloe) or Kristin Kreuk (Lana). Personally, I think this is a no-brainer, follow on through for my prediction and check back with me at the end of the season to see how I did.

Not Clark: C'mon, kill off Clark Kent? There is only one way that would happen and that is if they canceled the show, and them only maybe. I think you're bending the alternate reality rules just a little too far if you kill off the central character. Tom's inclusion is a total red herring.

Not Lex: This basically stands true for all of my predictions: No major character from the Superman mythos is going to die. Not Clark, and sure as heck not Lex. Besides, Michael Rosenbaum has already announced he is leaving next season.

Not Lana: Again, she's Superman mythos, she is the source of much romantic strife for Clark, I don't know what they'd do without her. I mean, whenever the drama runs low all you have to do is have a scene of Clark pining for Lana over some trinket or memory and your back in with the prime time soap crowd. The only thing that makes her a slight possibility IS the fact that Michael Rosenbaum is leaving. Once Lex is out of the picture, how are they going to keep these two apart?

It's Chloe: Can it be more obvious? She is going to reveal her power in the finale according to spoilers and she will probably wind up sacrificing herself to save Clark. That's what I'm calling.
