Sarah Jane Smith is back in her new TV Series. She was originally the 4th Doctor's Companion back in the 70's. I actually met Elizabeth Sladen(Sarah Jane) at a Dr Who Con years ago and was very friendly.

'Doctor Who assistant gets own TV series'
Doctor Who fans who can't wait for the time traveller's next TV appearance at Christmas will be able to watch the adventures of one of his former companions from the end of September, the BBC said on Thursday.
Actress Elisabeth Sladen will reprise her role from the 1970s as one of the doctor's best known assistants, journalist Sarah Jane Smith, in a 10-part spin-off from the long-running science fiction series.
She will star in The Sarah Jane Adventures to be broadcast on BBC 1 and children's channel CBBC. (No Australian Broadcast Date Yet)!!
The move follows her reappearance in an episode of Doctor Who last year.
"It's great to be back enjoying Sarah Jane with some fantastic new adventures," said Sladen.
"There's still so much more to find out about her after all these years."
Executive Producer Russell T. Davies said: "This is a wonderful opportunity, to use all our Doctor Who resources here in Cardiff for the making of a brand new drama for CBBC."

The Sarah Jane Adventures
By Martin Barber
Smith, a former companion to Doctor Who, is back on our TV screens with a team of young helpers - all ready for a series of adventures that are out of this world.
Enemies of the Doctor are out for revenge in The Sarah Jane Adventures (SJA) – the latest Doctor Who spin-off, created by the award-winning writer Russell T Davies.
Starring one of Doctor Who's most famous former companions – investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith - the fast-paced children's drama series starts on Monday, 24 September, 2007 on BBC1 with Revenge Of The Slitheen.
"This is a wonderful opportunity, to use all our Doctor Who resources here in Cardiff for the making of a brand new drama for CBBC," said Russell T Davies.
"We hope brand new viewers join us for 10 full-blooded episodes of excitement and danger," he added.
Sarah Jane Smith
Having travelled the universe with the Doctor, Sarah Jane is used to dealing with alien encounters - but when her young friends Maria, Luke and Clyde join her they soon become embroiled in a mysterious world of chases, danger, and monsters from outer space!
Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith
Sarah Jane Smith is played by Elisabeth Sladen who also starred as Sarah Jane in the original Doctor Who series as companion to the third and fourth Doctors, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker.
She was a regular in the series from 1973 to 1976 and made a return to the show in the 2006 episode School Reunion opposite David Tennant, the tenth Doctor.
"It's great to be back enjoying Sarah Jane with some fantastic new adventures. There's still so much more to find out about her after all these years," said Lis.
""I hope that viewers have as much fun watching the series as I did making it," she added.
Interview with Lis Sladen
The new SJA 10 part series follows Invasion Of The Bane, a feature length episode of the drama that was first broadcast on New Year's Day 2007.
Just days after finishing filming for the SJA special, Lis shared her excitement about the new show in an exclusive webTV interview with Martin Barber for BBC Norfolk Kids during the Cult TV Festival 2006 in Hemsby...

Cult Spy casts its beady eyes over the fantastic first season of the Sarah Jane Adventures, offering a rather alternative take on what went down...
Best Guest Star
Phyllida Law's superb performance as Mrs Nelson-Stanley in ‘Eye Of The Gorgon’ reigns supreme in this category. She manages to evoke a sense of wonder at the adventures her character has experienced earlier in her life, along with a great degree of sadness about the effects of time on her wellbeing.
Jane Asher’s role as Andrea in ’Whatever Happened To Sarah Jane?’ is also worth noting for its power and pathos.
Stinker of the Season
A performance fittingly bathed in flatulence, Martyn Eliss’ portrayal of the Slitheen-inhabited Headmaster in the opening story was truly dire. Any sense of drama or danger was eradicated by the sheer weight of gurning, mugging and sub-pantomime villainy on display.
Scariest Moment
Given the surprisingly creepy tone of the show, there are quite a few contenders for this accolade. The sinister ‘Trickster’ stalking the street at night outside Maria’s house and the sudden evil inclination of Mr Smith were definitely enough to send a few shudders down the spine.
But we’re plumping for the opening scene to ‘Eye Of The Gorgon’, in which an evil-looking nun suddenly appears in the bedroom of an elderly lady in a nursing home. Emitting a piercing gaze and bathed in eerie moonlight, the look of this nun would be enough to make viewers steer clear of convents for life.
