Here's some Basic Information about this TV Show:

Quote:
Babylon 5 is an epic American science fiction television series created, produced, and largely written by J. Michael Straczynski. The show centers on the Babylon 5 space station, a focal point for politics, diplomacy, and wars.
Unlike most television shows, this series was conceived as a novel, with a defined beginning, middle, and end. A Five Year Story arcs.

Babylon 5 is the fifth Babylon space station, Three predecessors, the original Babylon station, Babylon 2 and Babylon 3 were all sabotaged and destroyed before their completion. The fourth station, Babylon 4 vanished twenty-four hours after it became fully operational The station is set in the Epsilon Eridani star system, orbiting the third planet of that system,

Babylon 5 is a window on the future" linking to the idea of a space opera. The hub of the story is set in the 23rd century (2258-2262 AD) on a large space station named Babylon 5; the five mile (8 km) long, 2.5 million ton rotating colony is built to be a gathering place for fostering peace through diplomacy, trade, and cooperation.

The Opening Monologue to each episode of B5(it was altered to "last, best hope for victory" by Season Three.)

"The Babylon Project was a dream given form. Its goal: to prevent another war by creating a place where humans and aliens could work out their differences peacefully. It's a port of call, home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs and wanderers. Humans and aliens wrapped in two million, five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal .. all alone in the night. It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last, best hope for peace. This is the story of the last of the Babylon stations. The year is 2258. The name of the place is Babylon 5."

The Lost Tales DVD Movie

Apparently there is a new B5 Movie coming out on DVD called B5: The Lost Tales.

Quote:
Babylon 5: The Lost Tales is an anthology show set in the Babylon 5 universe. Created by J. Michael Straczynski. The idea of doing a bunch of character focused short films, structured in an anthology format. The first two episodes for Voices in the Dark are to have stronger connections in the form of intersecting key plot and thematic points, and are intended to overlap and complement each other while telling separate but simultaneous stories.

Starring Bruce Boxleitner :Tracy Scoggins :Peter Woodward
