Among the six shows that Fox is expected to pick up for the fall season, it looks like the Connor family is going to be among them.
"The Sarah Connor Chronicles," the series based on the hit Terminator movie trilogy, is expected to be in Fox's fall lineup starring Lena Headey, Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau.
Fox has not had a good history with science-fiction television series, however. Big-time productions that have had a lot of interest by little hype have barely made it past a month on the network in the past, including "Harsh Realm" earlier in the decade as well as more recent shows like Joss Whedon's "Firefly."
Glau was a member of the original "Firefly" cast and its later motion picture version "Serenity," and has decided to give Fox another go with this Terminator send off.
Dekker recently played the recurring character of Zach in the NBC series "Heroes," a run marked by controversy after a public dispute over the sexuality of his character seems to continue to pop up now and again.
It will be yet another busy year for the genre on network television with the inclusion of "Sarah Connor." Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter announced that NBC was moving forward with the David Eick reimagination "The Bionic Woman." Also, a company called Halcyon recently announced that it would be picking up the Terminator movie franchise, including an already completed script for "Terminator 4," and intend to make it into a new trilogy sans Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has a new job of being governor of California.
