(Feb. 14) - J.J. Abrams' reboot of the "Star Trek" franchise will no longer be bringing joy to the world (or thousands of Trekkies) this Christmas.
The film has been pushed from its original Dec. 25, 2008, release date to May 8, 2009, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Paramount spokesman Michael Vollman insists "Star Trek" isn't moving to summer 2009 because of script problems, but rather because "it has so much box-office potential." While 'Trek' faces little competition on its new May 8, 2009, release date, it will be sandwiched between the releases of two major tentpoles, 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' and 'Angels and Demons.'
