The Thing is a 1982 science fiction horror film directed by John Carpenter, written by Bill Lancaster, and starring Kurt Russell.
I recently saw this film in full for the first time and quite enjoyed it the special effects were quite good for an early 80's sci-fi/horror film and the ending was left open.
